Sustainability and protection of the environment are high on everyone's list of priorities in the twenty-first century. As important for our employees is the management of workplace health and safety.
JTI recognizes and accepts its responsibilities in the field of environmental protection and in workplace health and safety. We have therefore developed a vision, which builds on what we are doing already but provides greater consistency and coherence and reflects the global nature of our operations.
Success stories
There are many success stories in our factories and facilities around the world. One factory has attained a recycling rate of over ninety per cent of waste materials; other factories have achieved awards for environmental improvement; many of our factories operate externally approved environmental management systems and have safety awareness programs and employee suggestion schemes.
