An SMD oven, short for Surface Mount Device oven, is a crucial piece of equipment in the electronics manufacturing industry. It is mainly used for reflow soldering in the process of mounting SMD components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Typically, the oven consists of multiple temperature – controllable zones. As the PCB moves along the conveyor belt through these zones, it experiences a precise time – temperature profile. First, in the pre – heat zone, the board and components are gradually warmed up to prevent thermal shock. Then, in the high – temperature zone, the solder paste melts, firmly connecting the components to the PCB pads. Finally, in the cooling zone, the soldered board cools down, solidifying the solder joints. This precise heating and cooling process ensures high – quality SMD soldering and reliable electronic product assembly.
